APV: Direct Steam Injection

This operates by direct injection of steam into a continuous flow of product through a special nozzle. This system provides very rapid heating, although slower than with steam infusion. The injection system handles low to medium viscosity products and the capacity range is from 2,000 to 25,000 l/hour.

Typical products include milk, cream, flavored milk, soy milk and ice cream mix.

This operates by introducing product into an atmosphere of steam through multiple nozzles in a pressurized chamber.

The infusion system is available in a wide range of UHT combination plants, i.e. with tubular heat exchangers and plate heat exchangers. Capacities range from 1,000 to 35,000 l/hour.
